A world
where all animals are free
from exploitation and oppression

  • A world where all animals are free from exploitation and oppression.

In Denmark, around 200 million non-human terrestrial animals are killed every year. The numbers for aquatic animals remain unknown, but it's reasonable to assume they are at least as high. This translates to at least 12 animals being killed every second in Denmark alone. Thinking about this is absolutely unbearable, but the suffering these non-human animals endure each and every day is even more so. Therefore, it is our responsibility to fight for them.

The Conference for Animal Liberation Copenhagen aims to unite the animal rights movement. We believe that collaboration and solidarity, both within our cause and with other liberation movements, make us stronger and more effective.

Creating a safer space for everyone is crucial to us. Therefore, no discrimination is tolerated at the conference. We do not accept racism, sexism, queerphobia, speciesism, islamophobia, antisemitism, ableism, or any other forms of discrimination.
In line with our values, we also stand in solidarity with the fight for a free Palestine, Sudan, Yemen, Congo, Ukraine and all other countries (and peoples) facing violence and oppression.

  • The conference will take place at Ungdommens Demokratihus, Slagtehusgade 10a, 1715 Copenhagen. The location can be reached within a 12 min walk away from Copenhagen Central Station (Metro: M3, M4; S-trains: A,B,C, E, H; Busses) or a 8 minute walk from Dybbølsbro Station (S-trains: A, B, C, E, H). The closest bus stops include lines 11, 23, 26 and 7A.

The site is located in Vesterbro, one of Copenhagen's nicest neighborhoods. It is a great place to enjoy a relaxed evening out and the lakes can be reached within a short walk.

  • The conference ticket includes all meals for the weekend. For Saturday and Sunday, we provide you with breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks for both days. The details of the menu will be shared shortly before the event. You will have the opportunity to inform us about any food allergies or dietary restrictions during the ticket purchasing process. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us via our email address calcopenhagen@gmail.com. We want to make sure that everybody is included and can enjoy the delicious food served throughout the conference. Of course, all provided food and drinks will be vegan. We will also make sure that the restrooms are provided with vegan soap.

For the social event on Friday evening, we will provide snacks and drinks free of charge for everyone with or without a conference ticket.

  • Ungdommens Demokratrihus is situated on the ground floor, with both the outside area and interior floor at the same level. A wheelchair accessible toilet is located in the entrance hall, and parking is available a few meters from the main entrance.

We offer access to FFP2 or K/N95 masks for anyone who wants to use them. Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the venue and air purifiers will be available to ensure better air quality.

Throughout the conference there will be an awareness team that you can turn to if you experience uncomfortable situations, need someone to talk to, or have concerns about attendee safety.

There will also be a dedicated area where you can withdraw from social interactions if you need a break.

Most presentations will be in English, but some will be in Danish. If a presentation is in a language you don't understand, you can contact a volunteer and we will find someone to translate for you.
